In San Juan del Río, the construction of two new vehicular bridges on Los Patos Avenue will take place, aimed at alleviating congestion in this area. The municipal president, Roberto Cabrera Valencia, highlighted the importance of this project as an urgent need. He pointed out that it was essential to connect the second most populous city in the state of Querétaro, which is San Juan del Río, and is also an industrial city.
During a conference, the president of the republic, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the governor of the state, Mauricio Kuri, announced the construction of these bridges. Both leaders emphasized that these new accesses will provide a new entry into the municipality and connectivity to federal highway 57. The president mentioned that the construction of the two bridges will significantly contribute to the development of the area and the mobility of the population.
The mayor described the decision of the governor and the president as historic, as it is a crucial backing for the municipality. He recalled that this request had been made in 2017 when he was a local legislator during the administration of the PAN member Francisco Domínguez Servién. However, due to flooding issues, the project had to be postponed, also requiring hydraulic infrastructure and an initial investment of 400 million pesos.
The amount of investment for the new bridges was not revealed, but the mayor emphasized that it is great news and thanked the president for the announcement, highlighting the historic management of the governor in this project. In the area where the bridges will be built, around 100 thousand people work, of which 40% come from municipalities such as Hidalgo and the State of Mexico. This project is considered not only to improve mobility in the region but also to be a significant advance in terms of infrastructure.
